A Technician is required to support and maintain manufacturing test equipment in order that manufacturing output is maintained and statutory requirements are met, and to improve the effectiveness of the test design function within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- To support and maintain all test equipment within the manufacturing organisation
- To develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance regime for all test equipment within the manufacturing organisation
- To effectively support the engineering manager as required
- To competently attempt to resolve technical problems
- Continuously seek to improve the processes and procedures within your area
- Help build and maintain excellent internal customer relationships
- Prepare reports where required for internal use
- To seek assistance with more technical issues to ensure swift response to the issue encountered
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures to ensure accreditation requirements are consistently met
- Be prepared to travel to support current and future products on customers sites around the world
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience of test engineering and test equipment design in aerospace
- Familiar with appropriate standards and processes within the area
- Be familiar with test equipment design, analysis, and test techniques for complex electronic systems
- Some experience of analysing and solving problems
- Good communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Works effectively with others
- Proactively able to manage own work in order to achieve objectives
- Uses own initiative and makes timely decisions within the scope of the role and has some financial awareness of the consequences of decisions
- Demonstrates a “Can do” positive attitude and leads by example
- Good application of Microsoft packages and relevant software for the role
- Exposure and experience with some of the following is required:
- Test equipment design (automated and manual)
- PXI/PCI test equipment technology
- Instrument control methods (GPIB, RS232, USB, Ethernet)
- Software development (C, LabView, TestStand, HTBasic, CVI)
- Analogue & Digital interface circuit design
